duodenoscope

n.
a fibreoptic or video instrument for examining the interior of the duodenum. An end-viewing instrument is used for most examinations, but a side-viewing instrument is used for ERCP. The end-viewing instrument is also used for examination of the stomach (it is also known as a gastroduodenoscope) and it is usual to combine the two examinations (gastroduodenoscopy).
