* * *Mohs micrographic surgery a technique of microscopically controlled serial excision of high-risk, nonmelanoma skin cancers. Formerly the tissue was removed after being fixed in situ with zinc chloride paste (Mohs chemosurgery); later this was modified to a more tissue-sparing technique in which serial excisions of fresh tissue would be done with microscopic analysis. Called also Mohs technique.
