N-ac·e·tyl·glu·co·sa·mine (GlcNAc) (as″ə-təl-) (as″ə-tēl″gloo-kōsґə-mēn) the acetyl derivative of glucosamine; it is a component of structural glycosaminoglycans, of glycolipids, and of membrane glycoproteins.
