mi·cro·neme (mi″kro-nēm) [micro- + Gr. nēma thread] any of the electron-dense, convoluted tubular organelles forming part of the apical complex in apicomplexan protozoa, often associated with or giving rise to rhoptries. Called also sarconeme.
