Gammaherpesvirinae

A subfamily of Herpesviridae containing Epstein-Barr virus and others that cause lymphoproliferation.

Gam·ma·her·pes·vi·ri·nae (gam″ə-hur″pēz-vir-Iґne) a subfamily of the Herpesviridae, members of which are specific for either B or T lymphocytes. Genera Lymphocryptovirus and Rhadinovirus infect humans, and there are a number of unassigned species.
