malignant peripheral nerve sheath tumor

a malignant type of schwannoma whose appearance is superficially similar to that of a fibrosarcoma; it may occur in association with neurofibromatosis that is undergoing malignant transformation. Called also malignant schwannoma, neurofibrosarcoma, and neurogenic sarcoma.
