- mycotoxicosis seen in domestic animals, especially horses, resulting from ingestion of food contaminated with a fungus, usually Fusarium moniliforme. It causes neurotoxicity, particularly inflammation or softening of the white matter of the brain, with symptoms such as ataxia, tremor, circling, dimmed vision, drowsiness, and sometimes death.
