phosphacan

phos·pha·can (fosґfə-kan) a chondroitin sulfate proteoglycan found in the central nervous system associated with neurons and neural cell adhesion molecules; it is involved in neural-glial interactions associated with nerve differentiation, and the amount increases when there is damage to an axon or spinal cord injury.
