cauda equina neuritis
- inflammation of the nerve roots of the cauda equina of a horse or dog, usually seen in adults; symptoms include paralysis of the tail and certain abdominal muscles, with incoordination of the hind limbs and often fecal and urinary incontinence. Called also cauda equina syndrome.
