multiple endocrine neoplasia

(MEN) a group of rare genetic disorders characterized by hyperplasia and hyperfunction of two or more components of the endocrine system. Several types have been distinguished; all are transmitted as autosomal dominant traits with varying penetrance. Called also multiple endocrine adenomatosis, polyendocrine adenomatosis, and polyendocrinoma.
