posterior pituitary hormones

the hormones released from the neurohypophysis (posterior pituitary), which are formed in the neuronal cells of the hypothalamic nuclei and stored in nerve cell endings in the neurohypophysis. The principal ones are vasopressin and oxytocin. Called also neurohypophysial h's.
